History of LEGO: Story of a Heart Overflowing with Bricks

These speak as they eat, and in fact they eat very badly, they are convinced that a tutorial is enough to build a Spaceship, and they pretend not to see, and they pretend to know that it is Men, Women and Men … Here they are men, women and men, and while their hearts overflow with love they just tell us to start building and telling the world in new words, begging those who come from the sea to draw the boundary between good and bad, if there really is still a line between good and evil… The name “LEGO” is an abbreviation of the two Danish wordsleg godt“, which means “play well“. It is their name and it is their ideal. The LEGO group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Kristiansen. The company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, grandson of the founder.

It all began way back in 1932…

Ole Kirk Kristiansen, master carpenter, sets up his business in the village of Billund, Denmark. His company produces wooden ladders, ironing boards, stools and toys. His son, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen, began working in the company at the age of 12.
