From Mortal Kombat, Sub-ZeroKuai Liang“, as a stylized Funko POP. Sub-Zero is a fictional character from the universe of the successful Mortal Kombat video game series, motion pictures and animated episodes. He is one of the most iconic and historical characters, appearing since the first Mortal Kombat and only confirmed in any other main game in the series. In reality, when we talk about Sub-Zero, we identify two characters who have played the role of the ninja, already played by Mortal Kombat II by the younger brother of the first edition, killed by the rival Scorpion during the first tournament. In Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and many versions of Mortal Kombat Trilogy appear as selectable both fighters, both the eldest and the youngest, even if in terms of concept and playability the character is almost unchanged, although in the story and as character they are diametrically opposed. Sub-Zero appears in any other film or television work related to Mortal Kombat, such as the Mortal Kombat film or animated series. The history of the various Sub-Zero has been gradually deepened in the succession of the various video games, and the character has recently been described as one of the descendants of the Cryomancers, an ancient race of people capable of controlling the elemental power of ice in various forms.

Sub-Zero is the code name of both Bi-Han (who later became Noob Saibot), and Kuai Liang, his younger brother (who is the current Sub-Zero), and they are both warriors belonging to the Lin-Kuei ninja clan. Of a different nature and temperament from each other, Bi-Han is a cold, calculating and brutal man, who exercises his authority with an intransigence bordering on tyranny, while Kuai-Liang is instead more moderate and magnanimous. They belong to a humanoid race known as Cryomancers, creatures invested with the elemental power of ice, which they can manipulate at will. Their appearance, which apparently may seem almost identical, however has small but significant differences. Bi-Han has dark eyes, and having died prematurely, when he is resurrected as Noob Saibot he retains the appearance of a man in his thirties age. Kuai-Liang instead has blue eyes, one of which is disfigured by a scar, and appears as a middle-aged man. Sub-Zero dresses in the familiar blue-garbed ninja-like uniform. Originally, Sub-Zero was depicted with Asian facial features as revealed in the ending when unmasked, due to his Chinese-American heritage. “Machine or man, you have a warrior’s soul. As long as I am Grandmaster, the Lin Kuei will welcome you“, Sub-Zero!
