Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is a 2020 American direct-to-video adult animated martial arts film based on the Mortal Kombat franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. South Korean studio Mir animated the film and was produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The film centers around the titular character seeking his revenge on those who murdered his family and clan after being resurrected by Quan Chi, while Johnny Cage, Liu Kang and Sonya Blade are chosen to participate on the Mortal Kombat Tournament for the fate of Earthrealm. Scorpion, pseudonym of Hanzo Hasashi (name confirmed in Mortal Kombat X), is a wandering undead who leads his life devoured by anger and tormented by pain. Scorpion died from the original Sub-Zero, only to be resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi who, in exchange for a new life, asked him to be his trusted and faithful servant. Scorpion, however, wanted above all to take revenge on Sub-Zero and in the end he succeeded, killing his arch-enemy.

Sub-Zero‘s younger brother, however, took on the clothes and name of his older brother, and swore revenge on Scorpion. Having been the subject of many machinations and conspiracies, Scorpion has no allies and is wary of anyone who presents himself as such. He is a ninja and his particular ability is the use of the kunai, with which he grabs or kills opponents. The weapon often wielded by Scorpion is a katana, the “Mugai Ryu“. The distinctive features of the character are the ninja clothing of gold and black color, outwardly appears a young man of average height, medium complexion and eyes without pupils, and it is unknown if he has hair and what color. Under this aspect there is a now skeletal body, with a skull engulfed in flames. In Mortal Kombat X, Scorpion is freed from the magic of Quan Chi and appears as a young man, with oriental features, bearded and with a ponytail.
