DC Heroes Captain Atom Funko POP

From DC Heroes, Captain Atom, stylized as a Funko POP! Captain Atom is a nuclear-powered super-hero. Beginning his career in the military as a member of the U.S. Air Force, he was framed for a crime he did not commit. To avoid a death sentence, he was forced to undergo scientific experimentation. His powers stem from an ability to tap into the quantum field. He has also been a member of the Justice League and the Living Assault Weapons. Captain Atom was created for Charlton Comics by Joe Gill and Steve Ditko, first appearing in Space Adventures (Volume 2) #33 (1960) Cary Bates, Greg Weisman and Pat Broderick reimagined him when Charlton was bought out by DC Comics, beginning in Captain Atom (Volume 2) #1 (1987). Nathaniel Adam was a United States Air Force officer during the Vietnam War era.

He was framed for a crime he didn’t commit and sentenced to death under the watch of Col. Wade Eiling in 1968. To avoid execution, he was invited to participate in a military experiment with little chance of survival, with the promise of a presidential pardon should he survive. The experiment involved testing the hull of a crashed alien ship’s durability by exploding a super nuclear bomb under it while Adam was in the ship. Against the odds, Adam survived, the alien metal melding with his body, while the excess energy threw him forward in time nearly twenty years. Captain Atom‘s powers are impossible to quantify as they are seemingly without limits. He draws his atomic abilities by tapping into a force beyond compression, the laws of physics are his to command!
