Kyubi Kurama Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Nine-Tails Kurama

Kyubi “Nine-Tails” Kurama Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Kyubi Kurama, as a stylized Funko POP. Kurama, more commonly known as the Nine-Tails (Kyūbi), is one of the 9 tailed beasts. Centuries of being regarded as a mindless monster and sought after as a tool for war caused Kurama to hate humans. After being sealed into Naruto Uzumaki, Kurama attempts to maintain its cynical perspective about the world, but with Naruto’s insistence on treating it with respect, the fox overturns its hatred and willingly strives to use its power for the world’s salvation. Kurama is the most powerful of the Tailed Beasts. Used by Madara Uchiha in his attempt to wipe out Konohagakure at the time of its foundation, Kurama is defeated and sealed within Hashirama’s wife and then transferred to Kushina Uzumaki 2 generations later. Through Obito Uchiha‘s scheme, Kurama is released and attacks Konohagakure before being stopped by the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, who seals the fox’s Yin Kurama half within himself. Following this, Minato and Kushina sacrifice themselves to seal the weakened Yang Kurama within their son, Naruto Uzumaki, 12 years before the series’ start. Throughout the series, Naruto tries to harness Kurama’s immense chakra to perform several jutsu that would normally be impossible for a shinobi of his age. But Naruto soon learns that relying too much on Kurama’s power would allow the fox to impose its will over its host to the point of breaking the seal.

Naruto eventually takes control of the fox’s chakra with help from an imprint of Kushina. During Naruto’s fight against Obito, seeing its host’s resolve to save the other Tailed Beasts, Kurama befriends Naruto by allowing him to achieve Tailed Beast Mode. Eventually, as Kurama is extracted from Naruto, the Tailed Beast tells Gaara how to save Naruto’s life by transferring Yin Kurama from Minato into Naruto. Kurama is later returned to its Jinchuriki’s body and becomes whole again as it reunites with its Yin counterpart. Kishimoto was mainly inspired to create Kurama based on the character with the same name from the manga series YuYu Hakusho. The inclusion of the fox spirit was also inspired by Godzilla. Kurama is widely known as the strongest of the nine tailed beasts. Hashirama Senju, who could subdue the fox, viewed it as too powerful and dangerous to be left roaming free. Even with only half its power, Kurama remained strong enough to defeat 5 other tailed beasts at the same time. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kurama’s full power was restored once its 2 halves reunited inside Naruto, which could defeat Toneri‘s giant golem and Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki‘s elemental construct. The absolute peak of its power could even decisively overwhelm Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Kurama later became able to manifest itself outside of Naruto, allowing the 2 to fight independently and away from each other.

ANBU Kakashi Hatake Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Kakashi Hatake the ANBU Team’s Captain

ANBU Kakashi Hatake Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Kakashi Hatake the ANBU Team's Captain

ANBU Kakashi Hatake Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Kakashi Hatake, as a stylized Funko POP. Kakashi Hatake is a fictional character in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. In the story, Kakashi is the teacher of Team 7, consisting of the series’ primary characters, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. He is initially portrayed as a detached and apathetic figure, but as the series progresses, his loyalty to his friends and students becomes increasingly apparent. Kakashi’s past has been extensively explored in the series, resulting in a gaiden being devoted to his past experiences. Kakashi was originally created by Kishimoto to be a harsh teacher but the author decided to avoid that. Instead, he made him more generous to calm his students in difficult situations to the point of giving him feminine traits. Kakashi’s design gave Kishimoto difficulties as a result of having most of his face covered and as a result it was difficult to show his emotions. The Anbu (Anbu Black Ops, literally meaning: Dark Side), short for Ansatsu Senjutsu Tokushu Butai (literally meaning: Special Assassination and Tactical Squad), are covert operatives of capable ninja that are dispatched by their village leader.

There are apparently no true ranks within the Anbu, team leadership and hierarchy seem to be based on merit and experience. The leaders of the teams are called squad leaders, a position held in high regard. The team protects the Village in exceptional situations, carrying out high-risk missions in enemy countries, and taking on S-level ninjas. They are also responsible for assassination requests and missions for which particularly skilled ninjas are required. It appears that all members of the Task Force carry a sword, a Shinobigatana. The Leaf Village ANBU squad is under the direct control of the Hokage. The chain of command in the other Villages is unknown. Kakashi Hatake was once captain of the team and so was Itachi Uchiha, who became captain at the age of 13. Ibiki Morino is the head of the Anbu division responsible for torture and interrogation. Among the current affiliates of ANBU we also find Yamato. Each Anbu wears a mask on their face with a different animal drawn on them and they also carry a coat of arms. Like normal ninjas, the Special Squad operates in squads of 4. They are chosen from among the talented ninjas of all ranks, and progress through the ranks to become captains. The latter are on the same level as a Jonin.

Kakashi Hatake Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Kakashi Hatake famed as Kakashi of the Sharingan

Kakashi Hatake famed as Kakashi of the Sharingan Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Kakashi Hatake, as a stylized Funko POP! Kakashi Hatake is a shinobi of Konohagakure’s Hatake clan. Famed as Kakashi of the Sharingan, he is one of Konoha’s most talented ninja, regularly looked to for advice and leadership despite his personal dislike of responsibility. To his students on Team 7, Kakashi emphasises the importance of teamwork, he himself received this lesson, along with the Sharingan, from his childhood friend, Obito Uchiha. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kakashi becomes Konoha’s Sixth Hokage (Rokudaime Hokage, literally meaning: Sixth Fire Shadow). One of the strongest ninja Konohagakure ever produced, Kakashi has earned recognition on sight by various high-level ninja. A prodigy, Kakashi showcased highly advanced skill from a young age, evidenced by his rapid rise through the ninja ranks. His prowess is said to rival an entire country. The S-Rank members of Akatsuki acknowledge his might, he outmanoeuvred Itachi Uchiha (albeit he couldn’t use his Mangekyō Sharingan at the time), fought Kisame Hoshigaki and Kakuzu to a standstill, and was deemed a major threat by Pain.

After Kaguya‘s defeat, Kakashi‘s combat prowess continued to increase, despite the loss of his Sharingan, due to no longer needing to passively expend chakra because he could not deactivate it like an Uchiha. Against Koji Kashin, one of Kara‘s strongest Inners, Kakashi was able to pressure the foe into retreating. In general, Kakashi is very versatile with advanced proficiency in countless areas including mastery of all three main ninja skills. Naruto Uzumaki says Kakashi is smarter than Shikamaru Nara, has a better sense of smell than Kiba Inuzuka, is more adept with the Sharingan than Sasuke Uchiha, and has better taijutsu skill than Rock Lee, each of whom are well-known for their high capacities in their respective areas. Kakashi’s genjutsu prowess is able to use basic techniques to major effect for intimidation and distraction. Kakashi’s combat and tactical prowess are so revered, that many foresaw his rise to Hokage status years before it happened. However, the Sage of Six Paths believed Kakashi’s greatest strength is as a teacher, leader, and friend, all of which proved vital in Kaguya Ōtsutsuki‘s defeat.

Gaara Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Gaara of the Desert

Gaara Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Gaara of the Desert

Gaara of the Desert Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Gaara of the Desert, as a stylized POP vinyl from Funko! Gaara (Gaara of the Desert) is a shinobi of Sunagakure. He was made the Jinchuriki of the One-Tailed Shukaku before he was born, causing the villagers of Suna to fear him as a monster. With nobody to connect to, Gaara grew up hating the world and looking out only for himself, giving his life meaning by killing anyone he came across. After being defeated by Naruto Uzumaki, a Jinchuriki like himself who found strength in his friendships, Gaara starts emulating him. He becomes Suna‘s Fifth Kazekage (Godaime Kazekage, literally meaning: Fifth Wind Shadow) so that he can protect the village and all those who live there, dispelling the fears he cast on the villagers. Originally debuting as an antagonist, Gaara is a shinobi affiliated with Sunagakure and is the son of Sunagakure’s leader, the Fourth Kazekage. He was born as a demon’s host as part of his father’s intention to have a weapon to restore their village.

However, a combination of being ostracized by the Sunagakure villagers, his early inability to control the Tailed Beast, and the notion that his deceased mother called him her curse on the village caused Gaara to become a ruthless killer who believes his own purpose is to kill his enemies. Only after meeting Naruto Uzumaki does Gaara earn a change of perspective, as he eventually becomes Sunagakure’s Fifth Kazekage and gains acceptance by his people. As Shukaku’s Jinchuriki, Gaara is able to manipulate sand. He carries a supply of sand wherever he goes in a gourd, which itself is made from sand. This personal sand is infused with his own chakra, allowing him to deploy it faster and manipulate it more precisely. If he needs more sand, he can either use sand from the surroundings or, if there isn’t any, use his personal sand to break down minerals in the ground to create some, these secondary sand supplies require more chakra to control. Gaara’s ability to manipulate sand remains even after Shukaku is removed from his body. Indeed, upon seeing how much sand Gaara can control at once, the Fourth Kazekage wrongly assumes it is Shukaku itself doing so.

Gifted with powerful defensive ninjutsu, Gaara’s usual tactic is to remain stationary in battle, using his sand to attack opponents from afar. The attacks typically follow the same formula: capture and immobilise the target, such as with the Sand Binding Coffin, and then crush all parts of their body, such as with the Sand Waterfall Funeral. If opponents are able to get close enough to attack him, Gaara’s Shield of Sand automatically protects him from all threats, even those he is not aware of, the Shield of Sand is commonly thought to be Shukaku’s doing, an act of self-preservation, but it is actually Gaara’s mother, Karura, whose love protects Gaara even after her death. If the Shield of Sand is penetrated, either through speed or brute-force, Gaara also has access to a secondary Armour of Sand covering his body, however, it requires an impractical amount of chakra to maintain for long periods of time and weighs him down. Nevertheless, Gaara’s sand is extremely effective at keeping him safe, earning fame as an “absolute defence” and allowing him to go years without experiencing a single injury. By adulthood, Gaara’s Shield of Sand’s defence increased tremendously, able to shrug off attacks that Sasuke Uchiha‘s Majestic Attire Susanoo could not.

Gaara’s sand is highly malleable and can be used for any number of purposes. Often this is to protect others, such as with a wall for one person or, in his capacity as Kazekage, a shield as large as Suna. Offensively, he can shape Sand Shuriken or Sand Swords. Gaara also has a variety of supplementary uses for his sand, a form of flight for himself and others, a method of sensing concealed targets, a Sand Clone to reinforce himself or allies, a Third Eye for reconnaissance. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, he uses the Desert Layered Imperial Funeral Seal to serve the same functional purpose as the Cloth Binding Technique, giving him a way of stopping reincarnated opponents. Numerous anime and manga publications have commented on Gaara’s character. Multiple series called Naruto’s fight against Gaara the high point of the entire series due to their similarities and Gaara’s role in the aftermath as he attempts to redeem himself. Among the Naruto reader base, Gaara has been popular, placing high in several popularity polls and always making it to the top 10 characters.

Orochimaru Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Orochimaru the Legendary Sannin

Orochimaru Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Orochimaru the Legendary Sannin

Orochimaru the Legendary Sannin Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Orochimaru the Legendary Sannin, as a stylized POP vinyl from Funko! Orochimaru is one of Konohagakure’s legendary Sannin. With a life-ambition to learn all of the world’s secrets, Orochimaru seeks immortality so that he might live all of the lives necessary to accomplish his task. After being caught red-handed performing unethical experiments on his fellow citizens for the sake of this immortality, Orochimaru defected from Konoha rather than be persecuted for his ambitions, and for many years sought the village’s destruction in order to take revenge and demonstrate what he had learned. After several apparent deaths in the pursuit of his goals, Orochimaru realises his approach is flawed through Kabuto Yakushi, his former associate, and begins monitoring the choices and actions of his former apprentice, Sasuke Uchiha. In the anime and manga, Orochimaru is a former ninja from the village of Konohagakure who is well known for his abilities. He is one of the 3 Legendary Sannin and a former member of the terrorist organization Akatsuki. He sought to gain power, conducted inhumane experiments to find a means to cheat death, and built his own ninja village Otogakure.

He succeeded to some extent in obtaining immortality by transferring between different host bodies, which became one of his driving motivations throughout the series as he targets Sasuke Uchiha for his genetic heritage. While he was the main antagonist in Part I of the series, Orochimaru‘s role was overshadowed by the Akatsuki organization prior to the Fourth Ninja War arc. By the events of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, he has seemingly redeemed himself and has sent his son Mitsuki to Konoha to become a ninja, while he himself occasionally works with Naruto (who has become the Seventh Hokage) and Sasuke. Based on Japanese mythology, Orochimaru was created as one of the series’ main antagonists, and was intended to represent the opposite of the protagonists’ morals and values. His snake-like appearance features were intended to make it easier for the reader to recognize that he is a villain. Several anime and manga publications have praised and criticized Orochimaru’s character. He has been praised as one of the series’ premiere villains by reviewers for his lack of redeeming qualities and open malevolence. Among the Naruto reader base, Orochimaru has been a popular character, ranking within the top 20 in several polls.

Pain “Nagato” Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Nagato and the Six Paths of Pain

Pain "Nagato" Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Nagato and the Six Paths of Pain

Pain “Nagato and the Six Paths of Pain” Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, PainNagato“, as a stylized POP vinyl from Funko! Nagato was a shinobi of Amegakure and descendant of the Uzumaki clan. Forming Akatsuki alongside his friends (and fellow war orphans) Yahiko and Konan, Nagato dreamed of bringing peace to the violent shinobi world. However, following Yahiko’s death, Nagato adopted the alias of Pain and, along with Konan, began leading a new Akatsuki, one that would force the world into peace using any means necessary. Nagato’s position as the leader of Akatsuki was well-deserved, being regarded as its most powerful member. As Pain, he was regarded as unbeatable by various individuals, and his strength allowed him to defeat and kill Hanzo, though Hanzo’s skills had long since diminished. He was also able to defeat Jiraiya, his former teacher, though he notes that he may have lost if Jiraiya knew his true identity. Not only that, he could face the entire village of Konohagakure and destroy it single-handedly, only losing 1 of his 6 Paths in the various battles with Konoha ninja.

Before he faced Naruto, Nagato had never lost a single battle, still pushing Naruto to employ the most powerful abilities he had at his disposal. With the Outer Path, Nagato could form what he calls his “Six Paths of Pain“. By embedding black receivers throughout the bodies of 6 corpses, arranged to resemble body piercings, Nagato was able to control all of them remotely as though they were his own. He could control the Paths across great distances, but for more chakra-demanding techniques, it was necessary for the Path to first be brought closer to his position. An alternative to this was cutting off control of 5 of the Paths and focusing all of his chakra into 1. The Paths can be used to react to threats in mere seconds and, because they are corpses, the bodies are unfazed by all but the most debilitating types of damage. In theory, each of the Six Paths of Pain could be used to perform any technique that Nagato himself was capable of.

In practice, however, he limited each body to one branch of the Six Paths Techniques, the exception being the Deva Path through which he performed a number of miscellaneous jutsu. Each Path served a specific purpose, be it offensive, defensive, reconnaissance or repair. None of the Paths specifically specialised in taijutsu, but all were able to keep pace during hand-to-hand combat with even the most practised opponent. Though he considered all Six Paths to be part of the Pain identity he gave himself, Nagato still regarded them as separate entities from himself, referring to them by whichever Path they embody. Although the Six Paths were individually strong, they were at their most formidable when used together, with the simultaneous use of all 6 being the primary reason for Pain’s infamous invincibility. This was because the Six Paths, as well as the Animal Path‘s summons and the King of Hell, let Nagato share their vision, allowing him to coordinate their movements with maximum efficiency.

They could attack from multiple angles and dodge attacks they couldn’t have seen but that occurred within another Path’s field of vision. During his attack on Konoha, when the Six Paths were dispersed throughout the village to act strategically, they managed to wreak devastation and kill many powerful shinobi, effectively allowing Nagato to almost singlehandedly overpower the village. Each of the Paths had its own importance in a fight, the Naraka Path‘s ability to restore all the other Paths, making it the most valuable, and therefore, Nagato would sacrifice other Paths to protect those further up the hierarchy. Despite the advantages the 6 bodies granted him in a fight, Nagato tried to limit his usage to as few bodies as possible to reduce the likelihood of anyone discovering the secret of how the Six Paths of Pain work. When Konoha began to understand the idiosyncrasies of the ability, he destroyed the village in an effort to kill anyone who might know that none of the Six Paths were the real one.

Uchiha Obito’s alter ego Tobi Funko POP

From Naruto Shippuden, Tobi, the Uchiha Obito’s alter ego, as a stylized POP vinyl from Funko! Obito Uchiha was a member of Konohagakure’s Uchiha clan. He was believed to have died during the Third Shinobi World War, his only surviving legacy being the Sharingan he gave to his teammate, Kakashi Hatake. In truth, Obito was saved from death and trained by Madara Uchiha, but the events of the war left Obito disillusioned with reality, and he inherited Madara’s plan to create an ideal world. Resurfacing under the names of Tobi and Madara Uchiha himself, Obito subtly took control of the Akatsuki, using them as a means to advance his machinations, eventually going public and starting the Fourth Shinobi World War. However, towards the war’s conclusion, Obito had a change of heart and, as atonement, sacrificed his life to save the same world he sought to replace.

Tobi however it is also is the name of the White Zetsu, used by the young Obito Uchiha during his attempt to save his young friends. He was among the first victims of the Infinite Tsukuyomi launched in the past by Kaguya Otsutsuki. This particular White Zetsu has a body that coils around his one eye, his body inside is empty. Tobi is able to completely envelop the body of people and to control them by empowering them. At the first meeting with Obito, Tobi was playful and enjoyed teasing him. He will help Obito during his recovery period and a kind of friendship will arise between the two. During the Fourth Ninja War Tobi will take control of Yamato‘s body. He will dissolve when the Infinite Tsukuyomi is released.

Naruto Six Paths Sage Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Naruto Uzumaki Six Paths Sage Mode

Naruto Six Paths Sage Funko POP, Funko POPS & Naruto Funko POPS, Naruto Uzumaki Six Paths Sage Mode

Naruto Six Paths Sage Mode Funko POP

Looks like Naruto Uzumaki is in Six Paths Sage Mode! From Naruto Shippuden, he’s been given a glow in the dark Funko Pop! Naruto Uzumaki is a shinobi of Konohagakure’s Uzumaki clan. He became the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails on the day of his birth, a fate that caused him to be shunned by most of Konoha throughout his childhood. After joining Team Kakashi, Naruto worked hard to gain the village’s acknowledgement all the while chasing his dream to become Hokage. In the following years, through many hardships and ordeals, he became a capable ninja, regarded as a hero both by the villagers, and soon after, the rest of the world, becoming known as the Hero of the Hidden Leaf, literally meaning, Hero of the Hidden Tree Leaves. He soon proved to be one of the main factors in winning the Fourth Shinobi World War, leading him to achieve his dream and become the village’s Seventh Hokage (Nanadaime Hokage, literally meaning Seventh Fire Shadow).

In this Funko Pop Naruto Uzumaki is in Six Paths Sage Mode. Six Paths Sage Mode (Rikudo Sennin Modo) is a divine transformation gifted by Hagoromo Otsutsuki to those who have an iron faith and the guts to never give up. It significantly enhances the user’s powers and allows them to use a number of new techniques. This state is indicated with Naruto’s pupils consisting of a cross of vertical fox-slits with horizontal toad-slats, and there is no pigmentation around his eyes that would otherwise signify the standard Sage Mode. Since Naruto first awakened this power, he has always used it simultaneously with the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. Directly after obtaining Hagoromo Otsutsuki’s power, Naruto’s eyes are yellow and later orange with the various chakra modes he uses after the war, just like his previous ones before meeting Hagoromo.

This mode increases the user’s physical parameters well above that of Sage Mode and the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, as Naruto was able to kick away Truth-Seeking Balls before entering the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode with this power. As a heightened state of Sage Mode, Naruto’s jutsu are augmented with larger amounts of natural energy to make them stronger. With the power he received from Hagoromo, Naruto gains a masterful grasp of chakra and the ability to comprehend all universal things. His sensing ability also rises to the point where he can sense and thus react to the invisible shadows in the world of Limbo. When Naruto uses his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode in conjunction with his Six Paths Sage Mode, he can push his abilities even further, such as being able to levitate, becoming fast enough to catch Kaguya Otsutsuki off guard and durable enough to take a Chidori unharmed.
