Batman Arkham Knight Funko POP

From Batman: Arkham Knight, Batman, as a stylized vinyl from Funko POP! Batman: Arkham Knight is a 2015 action-adventure game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is the successor to the 2013 video game Batman: Arkham Origins, and the 4th main installment in the Batman: Arkham series. Written by Sefton Hill, Ian Ball and Martin Lancaster, Arkham Knight is inspired by the long-running comic book mythos. Set 9 months after the events of 2011‘s Batman: Arkham City, the game’s main storyline follows Batman as he confronts Scarecrow, who has launched an attack on Gotham City, causing a citywide evacuation. Scarecrow, with the help of the mysterious Arkham Knight, plots to unite Batman’s greatest foes in an attempt to finally destroy Batman. The game is presented from a third-person perspective, with a primary focus on Batman’s melee combat, stealth abilities, detective skills, and gadgets. Batman can freely move around the open world of Gotham City, interacting with characters and undertaking missions, and unlocking new areas by progressing through the main story or obtaining new equipment. The player is able to complete side missions away from the main story to unlock additional content and collectible items.

Combat focuses on chaining attacks together against numerous foes while avoiding damage, while stealth allows Batman to conceal himself around an area, using gadgets and the environment to silently eliminate enemies. Arkham Knight introduces the Batmobile as a playable vehicle, which is used for transportation, puzzle solving and combat. Development on Arkham Knight began in 2011 after completion of Arkham City and took place over four years. Rocksteady opted to use its own writers for the main story with collaboration by comic book writer Geoff Johns, choosing to replace Paul Dini who had worked on Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The introduction of the Batmobile required a change in the team’s design methodology, as the previous games’ city designs were too narrow and confined to allow smooth travel for the vehicle. At release, the game was the fastest selling game of 2015, and the fastest selling game in the Arkham series, reaching over 5 million units sold globally by October 2015. The game also received several accolades, including Best Game and Best Action-Adventure Game. It was also featured in many lists of the best video games of 2015 and of the 2010s. A continuation of the series, titled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, will release in 2022.

From DC Heroes, Captain Atom, stylized as a Funko POP! Captain Atom is a nuclear-powered super-hero. Beginning his career in the military as a member of the U.S. Air Force, he was framed for a crime he did not commit. To avoid a death sentence, he was forced to undergo scientific experimentation. His powers stem from an ability to tap into the quantum field. He has also been a member of the Justice League and the Living Assault Weapons. Captain Atom was created for Charlton Comics by Joe Gill and Steve Ditko, first appearing in Space Adventures (Volume 2) #33 (1960) Cary Bates, Greg Weisman and Pat Broderick reimagined him when Charlton was bought out by DC Comics, beginning in Captain Atom (Volume 2) #1 (1987). Nathaniel Adam was a United States Air Force officer during the Vietnam War era.

He was framed for a crime he didn’t commit and sentenced to death under the watch of Col. Wade Eiling in 1968. To avoid execution, he was invited to participate in a military experiment with little chance of survival, with the promise of a presidential pardon should he survive. The experiment involved testing the hull of a crashed alien ship’s durability by exploding a super nuclear bomb under it while Adam was in the ship. Against the odds, Adam survived, the alien metal melding with his body, while the excess energy threw him forward in time nearly twenty years. Captain Atom‘s powers are impossible to quantify as they are seemingly without limits. He draws his atomic abilities by tapping into a force beyond compression, the laws of physics are his to command!

Batman features a stern expression and holds a batarang, while Joker sports a threatening smile as he holds his razor and Batman doll. These Limited Edition Funko POP make an incredible addition to any Batman or Joker collector. Limited to 30,000 Pieces. Batman White Knight is a comic book limited series created by Sean Murphy and the first installment of the Murphyverse. The series spans eight issues and was published monthly in 2017 and 2018 by DC Comics. In Batman White Knight, upon regaining his “sanity“, the Joker sets out to reverse the public perception of himself and Batman from hero and villain, seeking to conquer Gotham through politics.

Batman White Knight is set in a different continuity to the prime DC Universe/The New 52, though several common arcs are still present, most notably, Jason Todd is believed to be dead at the Joker’s hands. The story follows Jack Napier, a reformed Joker, who has been cured of his insanity and now views Batman as the greatest villain of Gotham City and the source of the city’s endless crime cycle. Additionally, the series reworks Harley Quinn as two individuals, her initial jester design is the original Harleen Quinzel, whereas her Suicide Squad design is an equally obsessed doppelganger named Marian Drews who took her place in her absence. Murphy’s goal was to depict a more realistic take on Gotham City, where crime could not be stopped with Batman’s methods. This led him to turn the Joker into a politician, using the character’s intelligence and charisma to win the people of Gotham over.

DC Comics had no problems with the ideas that Murphy had for the series, such as changing the timeline in Batman’s history. However, the adult content, like nudity and profanity that Murphy had intended to include, were not permitted. Murphy revealed that the Joker’s real name in White Knight is Jack Napier, a reference to Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film, in which the Joker (played by Jack Nicholson) also shares that name. The 1989 movie, along with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, also inspired Murphy’s design of the Batmobile in Batman White Knight. One of White Knight’s subplots involves one of the story’s antagonists using a freeze ray to encase a portion of Gotham City in ice, a reference to the 1997 film Batman & Robin.

Batman has been Gotham City’s protector for decades, CEO of Wayne Enterprises, Patriarch of the Bat Family and veteran member of the Justice League. Batman is a superhero co-created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. The character made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 (May, 1939). Batman is the secret identity of Bruce Wayne. Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child leads him to train himself to physical and intellectual perfection and don a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the Batcave, beneath Wayne Manor assisted by his butler Alfred Pennyworth. The Dark Knight fights an assortment of villains influenced by the characters’ roots in film and pulp magazines.

Unlike most superheroes, Batman does not possess any superpowers; he makes use (to the best that he can) of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, and intimidation in his war on crime. Batman became a popular character soon after his introduction, and eventually gained his own title, “Batman“. As the decades wore on, differing takes on the character emerged. The late 1960s Batman television series utilized a camp aesthetic associated with the character for years after the show ended. Various creators worked to return the character to his dark roots, culminating in Frank Miller’s 1986 Dark Knight series. That and the success of director Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman motion picture helped reignite popular interest in the character. A cultural icon, Batman has been licensed and adapted into a variety of media, from radio to television and film, and appears on a variety of merchandise sold all over the world. The Batman goes by numerous nicknames, such as The Dark Knight, The Caped Crusader, World’s Greatest Detective and the Defender of Gotham.

Death Metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. It typically employs heavily distorted and low-tuned guitars, played with techniques such as palm muting and tremolo picking, deep growling vocals, aggressive, powerful drumming, featuring double kick and blast beat techniques, minor keys or atonality, abrupt tempo, key, time signature changes and chromatic chord progressions. The lyrical themes of death metal may include slasher film-style violence, political conflict, religion, nature, philosophy, true crime and science fiction. Building from the musical structure of thrash metal and early black metal, death metal emerged during the mid-1980s. Bands such as Venom, Celtic Frost, Slayer, and Kreator were important influences on the genre’s creation. Possessed, Death, Necrophagia, Obituary, Autopsy, and Morbid Angel are often considered pioneers of the genre. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, death metal gained more media attention as a popular genre. Since then, Death Metal has diversified, spawning several subgenres.
